Everyone suddenly sells “AI marketing”. Most of it is prompt collections and tool lists. After two years of rebuilding my own agency around AI, here is the definition I actually operate by.
What is AI-powered marketing?
AI-powered marketing is using AI to multiply the speed, volume and consistency of marketing that already works: ad creative production, landing pages, follow-up sequences, reporting and analysis. The strategy stays human. The execution gets machine speed. My shorthand: great marketing gets the clients, AI gets you there 10x faster.
What AI-powered marketing is not
It is not asking ChatGPT to “write me an ad” and posting whatever comes out. AI without buyer psychology produces fast garbage, and volume of bad ads is still bad ads. It is also not a replacement for knowing your customer. No model can fix a weak offer aimed at the wrong audience.
Where should a business start?
Start where you bleed the most hours. For most businesses that is one of four places: ad creative production, landing pages, lead follow-up, or reporting. Pick one, build a complete workflow for it, and only then move to the next. Twelve months of that and your marketing runs like you have a ten-person team.
Do you need to be technical?
No. If you can write an email, you can run modern AI marketing workflows. The barrier was never technical skill. It was knowing which workflow to build and what good output looks like, which is exactly what a decade of spending real money on ads teaches you.
